VAST (Video Ad Serving Template) is a standardised scripting language developed by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) in order to allow for communication between ad servers and video players. Since its initial release in 2008 there have been multiple revisions to the standard.

VAST version settings in Cape Ad Validation
In Cape Ad Validation, you can select one or several of the below options:
- VAST 1
- VAST 2
- VAST 3
- VAST 4
- VAST 4.1
- VAST 4.2
- VAST 4.3
Cape Ad Validation's recommendation
Enabling this setting ensures ads are compatible with the VAST version(s) in use in your players/servers.
